This is a special release kit that commemorates the 2023 Mini 4WD Asia Challenge, which takes place in Thailand for 2023. This kit incorporates a special color variation of Item 18099 Ray Spear (VZ) which has been a popular Mini 4WD assembly kit based on the VZ chassis. This kit also features dedicated stickers and new packaging that commemorates the event.
About the Ray Spear
The Ray Spear, a Mini 4WD racer with body designed by Japanese “Hyper Designer” Takayuki Yamazaki. The body features a thrusting design and is lightweight and compact, contributing to a low center of gravity for the car; it features a detachable canopy which reveals a jet fighter-type cockpit interior. Like the body, the VZ chassis is a lightweight and compact design.

This assembly kit creates a stylish Mini 4WD car known as the Cross Spear 02, a close relation to our earlier Cross Spear 01 . The one-of-a-kind compact, lightweight design with a smooth, lowdown look, its cockpit shifted forward, and side trellis sections is the brainchild of Japanese designer Takayuki Yamazaki. It is based upon the compact race-focussed VZ chassis, with red Y-spoke wheels and super hard small diameter low-profile tires that minimize bounce after jumps.
VZ Chassis
The VZ chassis is a compact and lightweight design that features reinforced designs for bumper, rear stay base and more ensuring that it has the durability and flexibility to withstand racing accidents. It is also a rather adaptable unit that lets its owner make numerous updates to the setup. Low friction 620 plastic bearings are molded in POM and maximize drive efficiency, while the chassis and A parts are molded in ABS. This chassis features a gear ratio of 3.5:1.
